The People’s National Socialist Engineering Republicans of Arizona

Don’t know how long this term has been used in the campaign as I was out of the country at the start but I noticed from my cross-trainer at the gym during the poorly-captioned Arizona debate the other day that the battlin’ boys were using “social engineering” to describe and decry the Obama administration’s attempt to expand opportunity for women in the military.

Social engineering.

Manages to smack of both Hitler and Stalin somehow, in the grand tradition of anti-Obama attacks.

But isn’t it social engineering to prevent women from doing certain jobs? Isn’t equal access regardless of gender the exact opposite of social engineering?

I mean, correct me if I’m wrong.
